Things To Do

It’s hard not to find an activity in St.Ives to fill your time, here are a few ideas and suggestions.

Restaurants

The Porthmeor Beach Café is one of the most popular in town, with its delicious tapas and tasty meals we suggest booking early in peak season!

Only seconds from the Hotel, Porthminster Café has one of the best reputations in town. The restaurant is an award winning restaurant specialising in Mediterranean and Asian seafood cuisine. Open throughout the year for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Situated at the end of the Harbour Front Caffe Pasta appeals to all ages and offers a great selection of specials. With stunning views of the Harbour and Porthminster Beach this is a great option to eat out.

With fresh local fish and shellfish, prime meats and free range poultry the seafood café offers a wide range of options for you to enjoy. The restaurant is always busy with a warm atmosphere.

Just off the main strip The Black Rock is definitely worth a visit serving local produce: fish, shellfish, meat, game from nearby farms and delicious seasonal vegetables.

This restaurant has only recently opened delivering something new to the town. You are presented with creative and colourful dishes and is an experience as well as a delicious meal.

Only minutes from the hotel, Blas is one of our favourite spots to eat. Their burgers are made using local, free range Cornish meat and cooked on a chargrill. They have a wide range of vegetarian options with delicious desserts to follow.

Beaches

This stunning beach is only a mile east of St.Ives and is one of Cornwalls five award winning Blue Flag beaches. The beach is ideal for children and families.

One of the smaller beaches. Porthgwidden is nestled beneath St.Ives Island with beautiful views of Gorevy lighthouse.

Porthmeor is a blue flag beach, great for surfing and a lovely family atmosphere in the heart of St.Ives

Nestled away, Porthminster beach is great for all ages with unbeatable views of St.Ives Bay and Godrevy Lighthouse. Situated on the beach is Porthminster Beach Café which is now open throughout the year for coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.

Entertainment

Offers a variety of evenings including comedy, poetry, films, talks and much more.

St Ives Jazz Club was set up in June 1998, and every Tuesday since then, we've had the privilege of hearing top class modern jazz in beautiful St Ives.

The club features some of the greatest international and UK musicians, top class regional and resident players, promising young talent and college bands, all within a varied programme which runs every Tuesday, open to all ages - and at a reasonable price!

If you're looking for something special to do on a Tuesday night, the place to go is St Ives Jazz Club - the last jazz club before New York!

Galleries

The gallery focuses on pottery, sculpture and paintings and is the oldest standing gallery in the town originally established by Janet Leach, Bearnard Leach’s wife. The gallery showcases local Cornish artists but also a range of contemporary crafts.

The Leach Pottery is located on Higher Stennack, St.Ives and a short walk from the Hotel, it preserves and maintains Bernard Leach’s work displaying his ceramics and most importantly his studio pottery.

The Tate St.Ives holds over 70,000 artworks and is a collection of British art from the 1500’s to present day. Located opposite Porthmeor Beach, the gallery is in a great location with a lovely café where you can enjoy the views.
