Williams and Simons Bakers, Cornwall
Every one in the hotel tries to make any excuse to be in the kitchen when the guys turn up with our bread order. The smell of freshly baked bread is hard to match. Pictured is Roy, the Simons half of the partnership set up in 2003 in an old converted fish factory in Newlyn, minutes from the harbour. Roy is a Newlyn boy born and bred and has always been a baker and together with their small team bake all the bread that we serve at breakfast including the granary and walnut loaf - divine. Interestingly we found out during our very early morning visit that Roy has just taken up sailing. We suppose that living by the ocean eventually makes its mark.
