Venue Magazine - Primrose Valley Hotel

October 2004

If it's sand between your toes you're after, then you can't go wrong with a visit to Primrose Valley Hotel in beautiful St Ives. It's reckoned to be one of the best small hotels in the town - and rest assured, there are plenty of them to challenge the title - something the Which? Guide to Good Hotels 2005 and the AA Best of Britain 2005, not to mention the national press, agree with. Best bit, though, is its unrivalled direct access to the award winning Blue Flag Porthminster Beach. Take a look at their fantastic website and its 360 degree views of the beach, from the nearby sheltering cliffs, across the 1km of unblemished golden sands and out over the emerald water. OK, so we should a little bit like a holiday brochure, but the beach really is that beautiful. Lucky you: you'll be located five minutes from the artists' and foodies' mecca of St. Ives harbour, all picturesque streets and top quality restaurants and cafes, with landmarks like the Tate Gallery, Porthmeor beach, and nearby St Michael's Mount and the Eden Project all serving to whilr away your lazy days. Back at the hotel, you'll get a good, honest family welcome, not to mention duckdown duvets and sumptuous pillows in every room. Could it get any better than this? Answers on a St Ives postcard.(Rebecca Dean)
