Tate
The Tate is a must visit for many. A focal point of St Ives, that occupies a spectacular site overlooking Porthmeor beach close to the home of Alfred Wallis and to the studios used by many of the artists whose works are exhibited there. A 15 minute walk from the hotel. It is designed to show works of art in the surroundings and atmosphere in which they were created. Various exhibitions throughout the year with a permanent collection of works from Cornish based artists, that can often provoke and inspire. Buy a combined ticket to include the Barbara Hepworth Museum. Children and seniors are free. Opening hours do vary. By the way, great café and a favourite spot of ours for lunch with unrivalled sea views and there is no charge if you are just going to the Café or shop.
