It holds a fascinating insight to over 200 years of St Ives history. The building is situated between Portgwidden beach and the Harbour in Wheal Dream and easily accessible from the town centre. Browse at your leisure through literally hundreds of photos, memoirs and treasures on view portraying St. Ives history of fishing, tin mining and its Lifeboat service amongst many other interesting items. Open from end of May to September and there is a small entrance fee. A great way to spend an hour or two to get a grasp on the rich history of the town. You can then sneak down the steps to the quiet Bamaluz beach.
