Trencom Hill, Cornwall

Trencom Hill

Ten minutes by bus and finished with a 20 minute walk on quiet farm lanes where it's quite likely the only thing you'll meet is a tractor, a plodding horse, or a roaming escapee sheep, or all three on a good day (and this is from experience)! Trencrom was originally an iron age hill fort, hardly surprising when you consider that on a clear day you have a birds eye view of much of the fantastic scenery in west Cornwall, from St Michael's Mount in the South to St Ives on the North coast, and even as far east as Carn-brea castle. There aren't too many spots in the UK where you can see both the south and the north coast. If you're an early riser (very early riser) why not make your way up there for sunrise, it's not a sight you'll forget in a hurry.
